Ian Wen is a NYC based artist who has performed and danced internationally in Ukraine, the Netherlands, Greece, and Mexico. Favorite projects include: Houseguest (de novo dance at Martha Graham), Artcamp Sexytime Football (Blessed Unrest at Interart Theatre), The Nanjing Race (Abingdon Theatre), Dinner Party (Target Margin Theatre at The Kitchen), Chrononaut Detritus (Joyce), Evil (78th Street Theatre Lab), Apparences (PS 122), Lullaby (Peeling the Banana at The Public Theater), Tortoise and the Hare (Parentheses Theater & NY Philharmonic), Blind Sight (Yara Arts/La MaMa ETC). He was an original member of the writing/performance troupe Peeling the Banana and a principal actor in Joy Dietrich’s award-winning feature film, Tie A Yellow Ribbon. He is a butoh dancer indebted to Diego Pinon, Yoshito Ohno, Natsu Nakajima, Yukio Waguri, Yumiko Yoshioka, Akira Kasai, Ko Murobushi, Seisaku, among others. A member of both AEA and SAG-ATRA, he is currently represented by Fifi Oscard Agency (212.764.1100). Ian Wen is co-artistic director of de novo dance.
